The tour guide was friendly, enthusiast and very knowledgeable

I had a very enjoyable tour in January. The tour guide was friendly, enthusiast and very knowledgeable about the area. Food supplied was plentiful and very tasty. We only had 4 in our group so we got to see plenty of things and it wasn’t crowded in the troopie.

Stunning scenery packed fun tour

I was the oldest and slowest but enjoyed how the guide adapted the walks to suit us all from the fastest to the slowest. The food was good and an interesting selection of dishes. It did involve a lot of driving however you did get to see the best that Tassie had to offer. It was fun way to see Tassie, I will return one day to help in the search for the elusive tassie tiger.

Tasmazing!

My brother, mother and I took a five day hiking and canoeing trip around the west coast of Tassie, mostly in the Tarkine rainforest. Aran, the guide to end all guides, took us round and had an incredibly extensive knowledge of the geography, history and biology of the region; letting us know plenty without bombarding us with a list of forgettable dates and genuses.

It was a really beautiful region, with almost any breather we took lasting a little longer so we could soak up the view our check out some strange little flower. The hiking was scrambly enough to satisfy my brother’s and my bushwalk-y muddy-booted desires, whilst being tame enough for my little old mummy (fingers crossed that she doesn’t read this). Also, Aran has some super fancy pedal powered canoes that allowed us to soak up the lakes and rivers without destroying our city-fied arm muscles.

I won’t go on for much longer but it really was a cool trip: we climbed 3 major peaks and a few more minor ones, with Aran agreeing to take my bro and me up the last one early on the day we had to leave; we hiked through loads of different types of beautiful rainforest; and we learnt of, and met; loads of wonderful Tasmanians (specifically Saige who came on the tour with us and Earle… a true blue gold panner!). I really recommend this trip and even though we didn’t, I hope you’ll be able to spot a Tigercat (according to Earle – half Quoll, half Thylacine).

Thanks for a great trip Aran!

A highly enjoyable kayak experience

We thoroughly enjoyed a 1 hour kayak through the Tamar River & towards the Cataract Gorge Reserve. Our guide ‘Aran’ and his parents which came along, were lovely. The kayaking style was one we’d never experienced before using foot pedals, which provided the opportunity to have your hands free for photography & to enjoy the views. Our next longer visit to Tasmania will definitely include an extended kayak tour. Recommended!

Great small group camping

I went on a 4 day trip from Launceston to Hobart, and we stopped off at bay of fires, Freycinet, and Tasman national park. Great guide (particularly diplomatic in catering for a group with differing hiking appetites), great walks, great food, and one of the campsites we stayed at had pretty much the most breathtaking sunsets I’ve seen in my life!

This is a trip I can recommend highly

I was hoping for an experience of pristine wilderness along with some hearty exercise. I was not disappointed!
What a thrill it was to dip the paddles into Dove Lake, then master the foot powered propulsion system in my single person hoby canoe.
The circumnavigation of Dove Lake by canoe was simply stunning. Beautiful vistas in every direction. Opiate for the soul.
And that was just day one!
The hike up Mount Donaldson was hard yakka but very rewarding and the 17km canoe trip down the Pieman River was magnificent. I saw a sea eagle, cormorant, even platypus!
It was really lovely that travel, food and accommodation were all diligently taken care of by our guide Aran, and his knowledge of flora, fauna and local history contributed to a wonderful experience of the Tarkine Wilderness. This is a trip I can recommend highly.

Delicious food, comfortable accommodation and beautiful settings

The Tarkine Canoe Adventure Tour was a perfect mix of walking, paddling and peddling in a sublime landscape. Aaron was a great guide having so much local knowledge and who looked after us so well. Delicious food, comfortable accommodation and beautiful settings. All topped by mountain summits, misty rivers (with a platypus!), fragrant forests and peaceful lakes. Everyone should be this lucky.
